I’m so ready for this holiday weekend! I love 4th of July weekend and unlike past years, I won’t be with my family,  instead, I will be down in PA with Josh’s fam. While I really love being at the beach with my family, I’m excited to spend some quality time with those I haven’t seen and I do enjoy lake life every once in a while. Let’s put it this way,  as long as I’m basking the sun or splashing in a body of water, I’m as happy as a clam. Last year, I went bold with my 4th of July look and sported a full-on American flag button down from Urban Western Wear (one that may have been perceived as obnoxious). However, this year, I decided to go with a somewhat subtle look. I recently picked up two of these racer front/ high neck camis and I absolutely love wearing them during these ever-so-frequent hot summer days.  Not only are they  flattering, but you can go braless without any issues. Sans bra is what summer is all about! As you can probably tell,  I’ve fallen in love with American Eagle’s Artist Crop white denim pants. They are the ideal length for my short stature and I love the cut-off fringe at the ankles–super on-trend! I think I may even have to purchase a second pair. Now, let me get back to packing! Enjoy this fabulous weekend with friends, family and hot dogs!

Ahh, Monday here we are again! For this brutal day of transition, I felt it was only appropriate to share with you an outfit that I have coined my “mullet” look. As you can tell it’s all business on top but a party on the bottom. Often times I like to mix pieces together that don’t normally live in the same genre of clothing. While some pieces just don’t mesh, I think there’s something charming about this structured embellished top paired with these over distressed boyfriend jeans. I also just had to break in my new Halogen studded flats that I purchased during Nordstrom’s Anniversary sale. They are HEAVEN; at first I was concerned about flats like these, their narrow structure made me assume that my feet would ache. But what they say is true, you really can’t judge a book by its cover and these are by far one of the most comfortable flats I’ve owned. I think I’m as prepared as I can be for a Monday, let the weekend countdown begin….

Lately, I’ve been taking full advantage of the leisure that comes with weekends and have been adjusting my weekend style for the better. Instead of getting hung up on the ‘perfect’ outfit, I’ve been wearing  what feels right. My Garage Clothing boyfriend jeans have become my yoga pants’ replacement (yes, I said yoga pants!) they are just as comfortable and there’s no judgement passed. As you can tell,  I’ve been all about linen this summer—it’s light, easy and effortless. In fact, my striped J.Jill linen shirt has been serving as my summer “overcoat”, I’ve been pairing it over everything from a simple tee to my bathing suit. The neutral grey and white stripes help highlight the fun subtle colors of red, yellow and soft pink, making it a definitive summer staple.
