This weekend was a scorcher…finally! So naturally, I spent both Saturday and Sunday basking on the beach and enjoying the warmth. There was such a nice breeze by the water that it was difficult to gauge how much sun I was getting and I ended up a little crisp. Now that the weather is finally feeling like the way it’s supposed to, I’ve been excited to try out new outfits. I’ve always been a fan of cropped flowy culottes and these tropical ones from J.Jill have become an all time summer favorite. They are super light weight and breezy. In addition to this funky floral pattern, they are also available in some neutral solids as well as in a deep blue pattern. I paired them with a very fitted top, but I’ve also worn a fun looser fitting and fringe top and it looked just as good. I’ll definitely be experimenting with these this summer and may even purchase another pair (they’re that comfortable!).

This was one of the first Easter’s in a while that I was able to wear a dress without tights or a coat. It was almost too hot this weekend; a whopping 86-degrees. My Easter Sunday began with a beautiful sunrise mass with my mom and dad. It was so peaceful. This time of year is always hard because we lost a lot of loved ones in the months of March and April. Fortunately, there were signs all around us at mass, making both my mom and I laugh and cry. After mass, we prepared for Easter brunch and the egg hunt. All the little babies were in search of those bright candy filled eggs. So fun to watch! Like I said, this was one of the first Easters in a long time that I didn’t have to wear pants or a coat. I finally got to take this Floral Flounce Dress out on the town. It’s comfortable and elegant all at once. I also love how I was successfully able to hide my Easter brunch belly. Usually, when I’m at home I wear no shoes, socks or slippers, but because I recently got a pair of Dansko’s Demetra sandal and found them to be unbelievably comfortable, I was able to wear a cute stylish shoe all day long. Not even kidding. I’m surprised at how comfortable they are, given the generous height. I’m a neutral girl, so I obviously gravitated to the taupe color, but they are also available in black and brown. I haven’t stopped wearing them. I think I may have found my go-to summer sandal. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! Let the flowy dress and sandal wearing weather continue :).

I’m in a funk lately–in every aspect, and I’m not quite sure why. I’ve been visiting my family home in New Jersey since Friday, and will be here through Thursday for work. I don’t know, I get this way every time I come home– I never want to leave. I guess you can say I’m feeling homesick while I’m at home–weird huh? Anyway, considering we’ve finally been experiencing warm spring weather, I decided it was only appropriate to celebrate in style with flirty florals of course! Josh considers this a level of Mormon conservative attire, however to me it’s more feminine and classic. I mean, I have way too many dresses with the same “go-to” neckline, it’s nice to include some out-of-the-box pieces in an effort to spruce up my wardrobe. As you may already know, I’m partial to neutral colors and this dress perfectly combines soft neutral hues with some vibrant pinks and yellows. Even though I’m not exactly feeling myself lately and I have some things to think about, I am taking full advantage of the warm spring weather by donning some of my spring favorites while I can!

I guess you can say I’m into the floral and orange combo lately—floral patterns have become a bit of an (unhealthy) obsession for me. And I couldn’t leave out my beloved orange cardigan this spring. This orange beauty has a past, I’ve had it since my junior year of high school  (does that make it vintage?) it has seen my style evolve, through the good and bad—my faithful cardigan. We’ve been through a lot, and its resilience through changing trends proves that it is a timeless piece, thus it has been named my forever sweater. I especially love its large vintage buttons—I mean I didn’t know her, but I feel Jackie O would even approve!
