So, this past weekend I did something I never thought I would do. I cut my hair. Yes, that’s right my long locks were getting admittedly straggly and my hair felt much like straw. I told myself when I moved to Boston that I would still remain true to my hairdresser in New Jersey and until now I’ve been remaining true, but I was worried that if I went any longer without a trim, I’d be in trouble. So, when I went to visit my parents at the beach in CT, I decided to get a trim. A two-inch trim that is. I was in shock when I left the salon, but my hair feels much healthier. Guys, I know it’ll grow back, but I just have to me melodramatic about it because if I wasn’t that would be too unlike me. I’m still getting used to styling it. I asked her to cut it bluntly so that when I get back to Jersey  I can have Jenny work her magic. So while taking photos this weekend was trying because I was dreaming of my locks, I will say this Summer Garden scarf poncho really turned my mood around. It’s hard not to look and feel great in it. It’s light-weight and includes a fun variety of pop colors. I paired it with these (newly purchased) white denim flare jeans from, Banana Republic and I can say I felt a bit retro. I often find myself dressing in 70’s inspired attire–I don’t hate it. Unfortunately, I won’t be at  my usual beach spot this weekend, but I fully intend to continue my summer mission, of laying lifeless on the beach. This poncho makes for the perfect post-beach outfit, and while I’ll probably have to ditch the long pants this weekend, it looks just as perfect with white or traditional denim shorts. Stay tuned and enjoy the heat while you still can!
