AUTUMN ON ACORN STREET

Fall is coming in hot, well— actually, really freaking cold. I’ve been all about layers lately and have been in need of some new fall favorites. I finally made my way to Primark this weekend at Downtown Crossing, and it was EVERYTHING I hoped it would be. If you’re planning on going, prepare to block out 4 or more hours of your day. There is so much to see, and you just HAVE to see it all. They have everything from cozy chunky sweaters to perfect pumps for a night out; all at reasonable prices. Anyway, I got this plaid jumper from UNIQLO a couple weeks ago, and with the recent cold weather I knew I needed to layer it. This chocolate brown turtleneck from Primark was NINE DOLLARS and the quality is serious. To warm my legs, I put on these grey knit tights and finished the look with the ultra comfortable suede wedges, (ALSO, from Primark). I’m not crazy about wearing dresses to work, but this one is too cute not to wear all fall long. I know that it screams prep school chic, however when you stick with classics you can’t go wrong.

FLANNELED FOR FALL

Fall is for flannel. I probably purchase at the very least one flannel a season. I prematurely purchased this one from UNIQLO in August, because I was super pumped for the fall season. Fortunately, I was able to wear it this past weekend and I decided to pair it with my favorite distressed denim pants from ZARA. I’m typically not picky as to where I get my flannels, but I will say this one is not only exceptionally comfortable but the quality is serious, and $29.90 is a modest price point. While denim is the perfect counterpart, I fully intend on pulling out my black leather pants—a great way to take this look up a notch.

JUST BE COOL

It’s FINALLY Friday, and I am SO ready to lounge out this weekend. Lately, my weekends have been jam packed up until now, and while I still have a lot to do I’m looking forward to doing it in my UNIQLO lounge pants. These bad boys are comfortable, and light-weight making them appropriate enough for luke warm spring days like today. I also want to give a shout out to my mirror face making an appearance in today’s post—- HAHAH. Doesn’t everyone have an unintentional mirror face? I think mine is more severe than most, and while attempting to look like a BAMF my mirror face slipped out—oops! The truth is, this outfit isn’t typical for me. I mean yes, in a perfect world I would be wearing a baseball cap and sweats every day of the week, but I get bored easily and as you can probably tell my style is a little inconsistent. But that’s what I love most about it; it’s fun to use clothing to represent different pieces of yourself—everyone’s a little bit of a BAMF once in and while. And if you’re like me and you’re just NOT…ever, then at least you can try and look the part. If you’re the type of person who only wears black or would never wear a dress, do me a favor and try out something new. I promise, you’ll surprise yourself, and it’s SO much fun! Think of it as playing a part in a movie or a play, but the main character isn’t the self that you know, instead it’s a tiny piece of who you are brought to life. You’ll be surprised how much a  trip outside your comfort zone will change your wardrobe, it’ll add variety and dimension. So…what do you have to lose?! It’s the weekend…and as Countess LuAnn would say, “just be cool, don’t be all….uncool”, just take the rest of the day to let those wise weekend words seep in ;).

A SUNDAY WELL SPENT

DSC_0939 editedDSC_0985 editedDSC_0972 editedDSC_0947 editedDSC_0957 edited

Oh and this one’s for you Monday!!!! Blahhh

out take editedDetails: Airism pink gingham check cami c/o UNIQLO, here | Lululemon  Wunder Under Pant, here  |

Another weekend gone by way too fast, it was (for the most part) absolutely beautiful. In fact, my weekend was exceptionally busy, my boyfriend was home and there was so much we wanted to do in such a short amount of time. On a normal weekend, Saturday is typically the busiest of weekend days for me, considering I’m usually running to all of the places I couldn’t get to during the week, but Sundays are MADE for relaxing. This Sunday, obviously was no ordinary Sunday, there was so much to do in celebrating the world’s greatest mom!!–DUH. Despite the Sunday morning Mother’s Day prep,  I was still able to partake in my normal routine. Okay, okay, I can’t say I do the SAME thing every Sunday (some are lazier than others), however my uniform remains consistent: yoga pants and a cami. These Wunder Under pants, (c/o the coolest bf ever) are UNREAL, I just got them this weekend and let’s just say it was difficult for me to abandon them on this dreary Monday. And I’m usually picky about my camis, however this airism pink gingham check one is comfortable enough to wear during my morning yoga practice and appropriate enough for lunch dates wearing my favorite jeans. I regularly practice hot yoga on Mondays and Wednesdays at Powerflow in Morristown, however I always like to enjoy the newly warm weather so I took my poses outside. Let me preface this by saying, I am the opposite of athletic, but yoga has helped me tremendously, both physically and mentally. It de-stresses me from the chaos driven Monday and gives me something additional to work toward. It’s called a practice for a reason; everyone is at a different level,  working toward his/her own goal; I LOVE IT…. Ahh! If only weekends were just one day longer–Imagine what we could do!?

Okay, now I need to focus on my current goal right now, which is to make it through  Monday morning….
