BARE LEGS AND PERFECT PLEATS

DSC_0144edtedDSC_0153editedDSC_0139editedDSC_0131editedDSC_0068edited (1)DSC_0169edited123DSC_0171 (1)Details: Ann Taylor Side Tie Pleated Skirt, here |Sleeveless sweater top (old ZARA), similar here | Banana Republic textured moto jacket, similar here |

You wouldn’t know this by the stupid weather lately, but Spring is officially here and I am no longer waiting for the weather to catch up. I started to pull out my old skirts and invested in some new ones, like this side tie pleated skirt from Ann Taylor. I’m super short, so I don’t typically go for skirts of this length, but Ann Taylor carries this in petite so it hit where it was supposed to on me. I also love the color because it’s unlike any other skirt I currently own. And it’s a twirl-supported skirt, which means it supports twirling–DUH! I paired it with a sleeveless white knit and a blazer, but I’m anxiously waiting to pair sleeveless and off-the-shoulder tops with it. I probably should’ve made the side tie tighter, but my sweater was hiding it so I decided to let it hang, but I would suggest tying tight to fit your waist. If you’re still battling the cold weather like I am, you could also wear an oversized sweater, and let it fall over the skirt–it will give this skirt more of an edge, not to mention it’ll be super comfortable.

What are you dying to wear for Spring!?

NEW SPRING CO-ORD SET

DSC_0506edited copyDSC_0525editedpicmonkey copyDSC_0500PMNEWDSC_0569LRDSC_0577LRUPDATEDDetails: Black and white co-ord set c/o Dresslily, here |

The warm weather last week was such a tease. I was actually convinced that winter was finally over, but boy was I wrong. Yesterday, I tried to get away with wearing just a tee and I was LITERALLY shivering. And while I definitely have to wait to wear a two-piece bathing suit, I think maybe, just maybe I can start wearing co-ord sets like this one from Dresslily. It’s SO comfortable and I really love the white details–it makes it classy. The model on the website shows this set with full-on belly showing, but it’s not necessary. I mean, if you’re into that then go for it, but it looks much better with the higher waisted skirt allowing the top to overlay. It doesn’t feel like I can wear this today, but I think we’re supposed to hit 60-degrees on Wednesday, fingers crossed! I’m completely over wearing chunky knits and puffer vests, so I’m ready to kick off my spring wardrobe with more sets like these. What are your spring wardrobe plans!? Maybe if we talk enough about them the warm weather will stay put!

PINK OVERLOAD

DSC_0004 (2)DSC_0008DSC_0040DSC_0043DSC_0057DSC_0059 2DSC_0068Details: Brushed-Twill Hooded jacket c/o J.Jill, here | Superga Carnation-Print Sneakers c/o J.Jill, here | Tri-Pearl Choker and Love Drop necklace c/0 Beadly Designs, here and here  |

Another Valentine’s Day in the books! We didn’t plan anything and ended up going out to dinner, but it was a really great time. We share a lot of laughs and enjoyed some delicious food. It’s funny that I have all of this pink clothing and I didn’t wear ANYTHING pink on Valentine’s Day. To make up for my lack of pink on the pinkest day of the year, I’m sharing a pinked out ensemble. I layered this Brushed-Twill Hooded jacket over a white tee and slipped on some boyfriend jeans and these super vibrant Superga carnation-print sneakers–how fun! I was really excited to style this outfit because it got me in the mood for spring clothing. After this most recent blizzard, I’d be happy if I never saw my snow boots again.  I can’t wait to wear light-weight jackets like this one and not have to wear socks–spring, where are you? I love this jacket because it’s cuter than your typical windbreaker but more casual than a trench. It will be perfect for cool nights walking to yoga and breezy days strolling Castle Island. Now, I don’t feel so bad for not wearing pink on Valentine’s Day. I’ll be sure to wear enough pink for the both of us!

GOING CAJ’ FOR VALENTINE’S DAY

DSC_0144DSC_0149DSC_0107DSC_0121DSC_0132Details: Textured tie-front pullover, c/o J.Jill, here | UNIQLO jogger pants, similar here |

The day of love is right around the corner, and I’m sharing some cozy casual looks that are perfect for a date night with your one and only or a night out with your Galentines. Considering we just experienced our first blizzard of the season, I decided to go with comfortable looks, that involve pants–haha! This tie-front pullover from J.Jill is perfect because it’s as sophisticated for a date night, but casual enough for a movie night with your girlfriends. I paired it with light joggers and some neutral pumps to make it a bit more dressy. So, instead of rocking that body-con red dress, take it easy this Valentine’s Day and get cozy with this pullover–it’s worth it, I promise!

DJ TANNER INSPIRED LOOK

DSC_0541 (1)latestDSC_0568 (1) latestDSC_0538 edited latestDSC_0552DSC_0602Details: Grey color block sweater and skirt set c/o SheIn, here

Listen, I’m always on the lookout for comfortable and cute clothing. And while my workplace allows for expressive clothing, a sweat suit is definitely not permitted. So, when I saw this grey color block sweater and skirt set, I just had to have it. The color block pattern is reminiscent of a beloved sweater from Full House’s DJ Tanner, but there’s something charming about this 90’s inspired look. It would definitely be difficult to pull off tights with this, which is why I decided on my black suede Ivanka Trump OTK boots. It gives the look a bit of an edge and once the spring months roll around, I can definitely get away with styling some chic sneaks with this look. And yes, it is as comfortable as it looks. I love that it feels like I’m back in my 6-year old self’s sweat suit, yet I still manage to look stylish and on-trend. So, if you’re looking for something cute and comfy, this set is your best bet.

BARE YOUR SHOULDERS THIS WINTER

dsc_0015editeddsc_0018editeddsc_0037editeddsc_0062editeddsc_0060editedDetails: Off the Shoulder plaid ruffle top c/o ZAFUL, here  | Rockport booties, similar here |

As you may know, I could NOT stop wearing off the shoulder tops this summer. So you can imagine how distraught I was when I had to retire my shoulder bearing tops. When I found this navy and red plaid long sleeve top, I was stunned. My clothing prayers have been answered? A top that I could get away with during the fall/winter months while showing off my shoulders. Game changer! I have to say, this top is considerably thick, so to me, it’s almost like wearing a 3/4 sleeve top in the winter months– no big deal. One may think this would be too cold of a top to wear, but we wear dresses without tights and tops without sleeves during the winter months! I paired it with a simple pair of jeans, but you could also wear it tucked in with your favorite skirt. So for a casual night out, get your hands on this plaid top and you’ll feel as though you’re sailing the seas in the middle of July.

MY HOLIDAY DRESS COLLECTION CONTINUES

dsc_0560editeddsc_0573editeddsc_0589editeddsc_0576editeddsc_0619editeddsc_0612editedDetails: Wearever Lace-Tier Dress c/o J.Jill, here | Ivanka Trump over-the-knew suede boots, here |

Everyone knows about my dress collection, and this conservative black lace-tier dress is the perfect addition to my dress-drobe. It’s the perfect option for an office party or an afternoon holiday gathering. I love a dress with a sleeve. Seriously. If there’s one thing I hate, it’s being cold and with this J.Jill dress, I can keep warm while looking stylish. In lieu of tights, I bared my thighs with these ultra comfy Ivanka Trump over the knee boots. Considering this is an all-black dress, I wanted to give my black tights a rest and break it up with some peek-a-boo legs. I also feel that the boots take this dress to a higher level of sophistication. For an afternoon office party, I’d probably stick to tights, but for a night out, why not show some skin.

COATIGANS & LEATHER

dsc_0677editeddsc_0690editeddsc_0704editeddsc_0708editeddsc_0718editeddsc_0721editeddsc_0725Details: LOFT Plaid Cape Coat, here | Hue black faux leather leggings, here | Gap turtleneck sweater, similar here |

I’ve always shopped at Ann Taylor, but I was never really a fan of the LOFT until I happened to pass by recently and a few things caught my eye. And I was pleasantly surprised to find a ton of cute sweaters, cardigans, and dresses. They even have activewear from Lou & Grey–really cute, and reasonably priced. I wasn’t even in there 5 minutes before I had an arm full of clothing to try on. I was going nuts, and as soon as I laid my eyes on this coatigan (that’s what they call it, a coatigan; clever right?!), I knew I had to have it. It’s perfect, I love the classic check pattern, especially the light gray, black and beige color combination. For the chilly days ahead, layering it over an extra comfy knit is a must, and this oversized turtleneck from GAP is SO comfortable that I have it another a couple different colors (not sorry). I’m also pretty excited that leather legging season is back. I have several pairs of leather leggings, all from different places, but these HUE leggings are by far my favorite. They are perfectly priced, comfortable and not too heavy or warm. Some leather leggings are so uncomfortably hot that it’s difficult to wear them. It finally feels like I can get in full fall/winter wardrobe and now, I can add the LOFT to my list. Sorry bank account!

THE GAME-CHANGING DRESS

dsc_0360-1editeddsc_0357editeddsc_0366editeddsc_0399editeddsc_0417editedDetails: Pure Jill Luxe Tencel collection c/o J.Jill, here | Fossil Colorblock Waist Belt, here |

As the fall weather settles in, I’m  gathering my favorite pieces to prepare for the full transition. I’ve always been a fan of turtlenecks. Not only are they cozy and comfortable, but I like how they frame your face. Is that weird? Anyway, to break up wardrobe monotony, I always like to have a few staple dresses on hand for the fall season. Some dresses are more comfortable than others and sometimes it’s difficult to wear a dress when it’s cold out because, let’s face it, that cozy sweater and stretch denim pants feel so much better. And don’t get me started on tights. Recently, I’ve felt like a stuffed sausage in them, not to mention it makes wearing dresses a small task. However, this long sleeve turtleneck dress from J.Jill’s Pure Jill Luxe Tencel collection is the coziest dress you’ll find all season. It’s ultra soft and I cinched the waist a bit with this colorblock belt from Fossil. It breaks up the solid color and adds sophistication to this comfy casual dress. J.Jill’s Pure Jill Luxe Tencel collection consists of a variety of sweaters, pants, tunics and dresses that are all made of an exclusive fabric blend (tencel/poly/spandex), that is fluid and lightweight with an incredible hand feel. Tencel® is a natural botanic fiber, more absorbent than cotton, softer than silk and cooler than linen – because of these properties even those with sensitive skin can wear this fabric with ease. This collection launches this week, on October 20th, so if you’re looking for cozy fall staples just hang on until Thursday and stock up on these comfy garments.

THE UNLIKELY DUO

dsc_0859editeddsc_0895editeddsc_0857editeddsc_0858editeddsc_0864editeddsc_0911editeddsc_0924editedDetails: ‘Cold Shoulder’ sweater c/o Dress Lily, here | Audrey Brooke Cindy Wedge bootie via DSW, here |

Sweater weather is here and I’ve been going out of my mind because my fall clothes are all at “home” in New Jersey. I wasn’t prepared for the fall weather to happen so fast; it went from hot to cold like that! I guess I’ll have to go shopping until I can make it home to get my clothes ;). In the meantime, I did add a new addition to my wardrobe with this off-the-shoulder wide turtleneck knit sweater. I’ve been waiting  to wear it and was finally able to style it this weekend. It’s SO cozy AND it includes two of my favorite clothing features: bare shoulders and a turtleneck. It’s a sweater of unity, bringing the summer and fall seasons together to make a sexy yet cozy knit. And not only did I discover a new sweater style, BUT I found a fresh new  clothing site. That’s right, another shopping site to peruse and another virtual shopping cart to fill. Dress Lily offers a wide variety of clothing from swimwear to formal dresses and everything in between, all at a reasonable price. The quality is exceptional and there are so many options in each clothing category that you’ll have to continue to edit your shopping cart. You’ll also notice that I found my booties for the season and these adorable wedges are from DSW the designer is not one I’ve heard of before, Audrey Brooke. However, they’re comfortable and give me the height I need to make me eye level with my peers LOL. Even though I’m currently lacking in fall clothing I can assure you I’ll have some more new styles to share in the upcoming weeks! Hello, shopping spree!
