ANOTHER KNIT FOR THE BOOKS

DSC_0697editedDSC_0712editedDSC_0693editedDSC_0734editedDSC_0752editedDetails: J. Jill Open-Stitch Side-Button Pullover, here | Banana Republic distressed denim jeans, similar here | Lulu’s open-toe wedges, similar here |

My brother came to town this weekend to visit, and I have to say it’s always so nice to have a piece of home visit my new digs. It just feels good to be with family and I was excited to show him some of my favorite restaurants and have him meet my roomies. It was another great weekend for the books, and not to mention the weather was gorgeous. I was coatless for the most part, and I had some spring sweaters like this open-stitch side-button pullover to rely on. It’s the perfect beach sweater; I would even consider wearing it over my bathing suit for a late night beach date. Speaking of the beach I CANNOT wait for salty beach air and sunburns. Who’s with me!? So while I prep on my spring/summer wardobe why don’t you share with me your favorite beach day looks?!

SET ON SPRING

The weather is warming up and I couldn’t be happier. Recently, I’ve been thinking of all of the great things that come with warmer weather. Coatless walks, beach weekends, sunburns and the smell of the ocean. The average person sets goals or “resolutions” in January, but I like to set mine once spring begins. Everything becomes alive again in the spring and there’s a surge of positive energy that seems to touch everyone in its path. While I have my intentions set for spring, I need to get my wardrobe in motion. Pastel colors, airy tops, and sweaters give freedom and new life to the dark and dull shades of winter. It’s only appropriate that this J.Jill ombre sweater is the first knit I deem a spring staple. The light pastel, lavenders, pinks, and blues make it transitional and the perfect companion to my distressed white and blue denim. If you’re not thinking about your spring outfits just yet, at least, start setting some intentions for the start of the greatest season.

The sun was shining AGAIN this weekend, can you believe it?!  It was a little on the breezy side, but spring was definitely making her presence known. I (prematurely) banished my chunky knits and long sleeved layers from my wardrobe, but weather permitting, I’ve begun a collection of spring knits. This light-weight pullover is a J. Jill favorite of mine; at first I was concerned it would look baggy on me, but I was delightfully mistaken. It’s a flattering fit; the top is sleek, but loosely fitted, and the flared bottom half gives it that boho-chic vibe—OBSESSED. I haven’t stopped wearing it lately and considering it’s on sale now I may need to purchase another. It’s difficult to find spring sweaters, up until now I’ve felt like Goldi Locks—some are too chunky, others too thin, but this one is just PERFECT. I paired it with my boyfriend jeans, and decided to slip on some flats. There’s no telling what Mother Nature has left in store for us, so hang on to your knits!
