DJ TANNER INSPIRED LOOK

DSC_0541 (1)latestDSC_0568 (1) latestDSC_0538 edited latestDSC_0552DSC_0602Details: Grey color block sweater and skirt set c/o SheIn, here

Listen, I’m always on the lookout for comfortable and cute clothing. And while my workplace allows for expressive clothing, a sweat suit is definitely not permitted. So, when I saw this grey color block sweater and skirt set, I just had to have it. The color block pattern is reminiscent of a beloved sweater from Full House’s DJ Tanner, but there’s something charming about this 90’s inspired look. It would definitely be difficult to pull off tights with this, which is why I decided on my black suede Ivanka Trump OTK boots. It gives the look a bit of an edge and once the spring months roll around, I can definitely get away with styling some chic sneaks with this look. And yes, it is as comfortable as it looks. I love that it feels like I’m back in my 6-year old self’s sweat suit, yet I still manage to look stylish and on-trend. So, if you’re looking for something cute and comfy, this set is your best bet.

ALTERNATIVE FACT: WINTER IS OVER

DSC_0227editedDSC_0244editedDSC_0260editedDSC_0240editedDSC_0284editedDSC_0312 2DSC_0305 2Brown knit sweater with white ruffle details c/o SheIn, here | Hue leather leggings, here | Ivanka Trump Over-the-Knee suede boots from Macy’s, here |

It looks like some winter weather is finally making an appearance–I smell snow! We’ve been lucky with such a mild winter, it’s almost freaky how warm it has been. And I’ll admit, I’ve definitely over-worn my knits this winter; I’m just as tired of seeing me in an oversized turtleneck as my colleagues are. Which is why I was ecstatic to find this brown knit sweater accented by white cotton ruffles at the bottom and top. I love a high neck, so if I can’t wear my turtlenecks this ruffle accent will do! Instead of styling this with ole’ faithful blues, I slipped on some leather leggings and stepped up my shoe game with these black suede OTK boots. Not only are they comfortable, but they make me feel like a boss babe. I know we’re all pretty sick of layers and knits, but hang on just a little longer, spring is right around the corner. And in the meantime, invest in alternative sweaters like this one!

GREY, PLAID AND CHECK: I’M SOLD

dsc_0148editeddsc_0145editeddsc_0141editeddsc_0186editedDetails: Contrast Ribbed Trim Check Plaid Sweater c/o SheIn, here |

I know what you’re thinking, another sweater. I can’t help myself! It’s the season for sweaters and I really can’t seem to have enough. I always go for the cardigans, but I rarely find pullover sweater that I really love or have to have. When I saw this one, I knew I had to have it hanging in my closet. I love how it’s short enough to fit just above my pants. Part of the problem I have with pullovers is that they’re often too long and since I’m so short, they stunt my growth. I still feel hazy from my long holiday vacation, and this shoot is rubbing salt in the wound since it was taken while we were visiting Josh’s aunt and uncle in VA. It’s so nice to spend the holidays relaxing and with family and this was one of the outfits I practically lived in. Not only can I wear it with jeans, but it would look just as perfect with a black or gray skirt. I promise I’ll start sharing more clothing, other than cozy sweaters. However, living in Boston, it’s all I can really wear right now. Stay tuned!

PEACE OUT 2016

dsc_0431editeddsc_0393editeddsc_0496editeddsc_0454editeddsc_0464Details: SheIn Color Block Drop Shoulder Cardigan, here |

It has been a wonderful holiday break and I’ve been able to spend some quality time with both my family and Josh’s. I know that 2016 gets a bad wrap, and I can’t say it was a great year, but it’s not a year to “take back.” It’s important to live your life with no regrets. Whatever happened this year, happened. Live with it and move on. You’re all alive and breathing, right? We made it through a ridiculous presidential election, we experienced great loss around the world and here in our own country, but like always, we came out on top. I can’t say 2016 was my best year, and I won’t promise that 2017 will be “the year” for me (whatever the hell that means), but I’m going to continue to spread love, work hard and give more. Remember to give yourself a break and know that you’re doing the best you can and that is always good enough. And, for the difficult days, we have cardigans. If you’re anticipating some trying times ahead, stock up on your knitwear and get your hands on this cozy color block drop shoulder cardigan from SheIn.  It’s comfortable and can be worn with ANYTHING. So, even if you’re not feeling so hot at least you’ll look like you have your sh*t together.

Cheers to 2017! Cut yourself some slack, and when times are tough, cozy up with a sweater.

VOUCHING FOR VELVET

dsc_0417editeddsc_0434editeddsc_0502editeddsc_0419editeddsc_0523editedDetails: Taupe velvet midi dress c/o SheIn, here | Lulu’s cream caged pumps similar, here |

The holidays are officially here and that means copious parties, delicious goodies, and gifts galore. I don’t know about you, but I always seem to collect dresses around the holiday season, even if I don’t necessarily have that many parties to go to– I like to have options, what can I say? This season is no different. I’ve started my dress collecting early and this taupe velvet midi dress was first on my list. I was a little reluctant to get on board with the velvet trend. I know it’s huge right now, but when I think velvet, I think of ALL of my childhood Christmas dresses that I wore with white tights and black patent leathers. You know the dresses I’m talking about, full velvet with either a bow or an embroidered poinsettia? They were absolutely appropriate for the church pageants and family gatherings when I was 10, but as a 20-something I couldn’t wrap my head around a full velvet dress. I decided to take a chance and jump on the bandwagon, and I couldn’t be happier. Not only is this dress silky and soft, but it’s classy and sophisticated. The high neckline makes it modest, while its bodycon fit is sexy and stylish. Not only will this be a dress for a holiday gathering, but I can even wear it for a date night. Stay tuned for more of my holiday dress picks.

LOVE N’ LEMONS

DSC_1189editedDSC_1203editedDSC_0006editedDSC_0040editedDSC_0038editedDSC_0042editedDetails: SheInside lemon print off the shoulder top, here  | Banana Republic distressed denim, similar here |

Another summer weekend has come and gone, and as I gear up for this Monday morning I’m trying my best to remain as calm and relaxed as I was lounging by the pool this weekend. Fat chance, I know! But it’s worth a shot. I’ve actively been trying to stress less about work and even continue to give myself pep talks, I.e. “You’ve got this!” or “Don’t forget to breathe.” Listen, I’m being a bit melodramatic, but sometimes I over stress and need a real reminder to not take everything so seriously. Which is why I’ve been getting myself back into a yoga routine, and Monday seems to be the best day for me. No matter how shitty my day may be going, I tell myself: “I’ll be at yoga soon; just breathe.” It works! Not to mention, thinking of fun memories from the weekend also helps take the edge off. While home this weekend we celebrated my brother’s birthday with family and close friends. And as soon as I saw everyone, I was reminded of what is ACTUALLY important in life. It’s not that unbearable client or the gift guide pitch; it’s family. I’m so lucky to be surrounded and supported by such amazing people. I know it sounds super cliche, but it just feels good knowing that no matter what happens, you have a group of awesome people that will always love and care about you. Because of this, I felt it was only appropriate to begin my week with this off the shoulder lemon print top. Simply because lemons are a symbol of eternal love. Now, when I’m stressing through Monday, I can look to my top and remind myself that no matter what happens, I’ve got a crazy, amazing, loving group of “lemons” by my side every step of the way.

Take that, Monday!

SHORE WEEKEND PREP

Untitled #20

Details: My SheInside faves: Brown Tassel Bag,Distressed denim shorts  | white sleeveless hollow lace top  | black buckle strap sandals  silver rim blue round sunglasses | Nordstrom shark tooth earrings, here  |

Shore to please is what the bottom of my license plate reads, but I mean a completely different “shore” it’s a lot smaller and lot less flashy but it has always been good enough for me. However, this weekend we’re meeting up with Josh’s mom down the shore in Point Pleasant. I know I sound like a broken record, but I’m not too familiar with the Jersey Shore, don’t get me wrong, the times I’ve gone  have always been super fun! I love the boardwalk and the beaches are stunning. But I have to confess, my last experience was a bit intimidating. I think I was just on the wrong beach because when I go to the beach for the day I can actually say “I woke up like this” I have zero makeup, semi-clean hair and if I have any shoes on at all they’re my trusted rainbow flip-flops. I guess we decided to go to the Tiki Bar because it was kind of a landmark? Or just a notorious spot? I found out quickly that I am just not about that life. Nearly everyone had a full face of makeup, wedges and some kind of mini skirt combo over their suits—feeling insecure was an understatement; you live and learn right? This weekend I decided to plan my look, since I don’t believe we’ll be frequenting places like The Tiki Bar, I went with some lax options (all from SheInside). All you really need are cutoffs, a flowy top, a pair of comfortably cute sandals and a compact bag. I never carry one with me, it’s something I need to learn to do and this brown tassel bag is perfect because there’s enough room for the essentials and it won’t get in the way of my funnel cake plans.

So I think I’m ready to take on my next shore experience, do you think I need anything else?!
