SPRING SLUMP

DSC_0818editedDSC_0815editedDSC_0823editedDSC_0852editedDetails: Linen-blend textured knit poncho c/o J.Jill, here | White denim pants, similar here |

I’ll admit, I’ve been in a bit of a style funk lately. Not only has the weather been all over the place, but I feel like I am too. I’ve been looking for ways to cope with the unexpected April chill and I finally found a poncho that makes me feel warm, but not to the point where I’m itchy or dripping sweat. I love how versatile this poncho is. It’s easy enough to wear with your favorite pair of jeans, but can be just as cute over a dress or skirt. I guess, since I haven’t been upping my style game, I’ve given my hair some thought. I don’t know, I’m really digging the 60s/70s inspired half pony. And I have no interest in changing it up anytime soon, even if I do look 13. Nonetheless, if you’re looking for the in-between knits that help you fight the recent chills, take a look J.Jill they have some really cute options.

MONDAY SCARIES BEGONE

DSC_0801 editedDSC_0790editedDSC_0784editedDSC_0827editedDSC_0815 editedDSC_0849editedDSC_0836editedDSC_0865editedPure Jill Kimono-Sleeve sweater c/o J.Jill, here | Light washed grey denim pants, similar here |

Monday morning is always difficult to cope with. I always find that wearing something comfortable and easy helps me cope with the stressful day. As you can tell, I’m a big fan of oversized garments, especially during the colder months. This Pure Jill kimono-sleeve sweater is the perfect piece to help transition from heavy chunky knits to soft and breezy ones. It’s comfy and cozy, but not overwhelmingly warm like our beloved wool sweaters. It has been ideal for the recent weather we’ve been having. I chose the ‘rain heather blue’ color because I have a thing for cool tones, but it also comes in peach heather, pearl pink heather, and sunlight heather. I don’t think there’s a wrong choice, in fact, I may have to get myself the peach one. It’s a piece you can wear now, in the colder and snow susceptible months, as well as in May and June, when the heat starts to rise. I decided to give my denim pants a rest and because I’m not quite ready to pull out my white denim pants, I went with these heather white washed jeans; a cool tone combo. Here goes nothing, Monday. I hope you have a comfy cozy Monday.

Pull Out That Poncho!

Details: Aztec print poncho from TJ Maxx, similar here// Paige  denim, here // Isaac Mizrahi booties, here

Snow is on its way this weekend and that means it’s time to pull out your ponchos! OK, I know that ponchos haven’t really had the best reputation. BUT they’ve come along way; from being your grandma’s best friend to becoming a necessary fashion staple in this season’s wardrobe–the evolution of the poncho is undeniable. And let’s be serious, what’s better than a poncho? It’s like wearing a cozy blanket while looking absolutely stunning. This aztec print is a fun and unique addition to my closet and its cowl neck coupled with those big brown buttons make it cozy and luxurious all at once. I purchased it from TJ Maxx several years ago so unfortunately I couldn’t find this exact style for you guys but I included a similar one in the link above.

So this weekend while you’re cuddling up watching the snow fall grab your poncho, a pair of leggings and post up in front of  your TV with an SVU marathon and some hot chocolate. How perfect does that sound!?

Happy Friday!
