I don’t know what’s going on in the universe this week, but it’s only Tuesday and I feel like I need this week to be over. I’m generally not so anxious for time to fly, and I really try to live in the moment and stay positive but my patience is being tested this week. I have no internet or cable in my apartment, AND my entire computer crashed. I’m not even sure it can be revived. Has anyone ever heard of the white screen of death? Listen, I know that worse things can happen, so I’m not hear to complain but sometimes I just need a mini vent sesh.  The cold weather isn’t really helping my mood; it’s so bitter and miserable out! And I feel like my blogging has taken a back seat this month because I can’t seem to gather my thoughts and/or clothes to prepare posts. As a result, my style has been a bit more casual during these frigid months. However, did stop by Marshall’s a couple weeks ago and came across this ultra soft grey and white striped blouse. It’s a size large, but I couldn’t resist its silkiness and had to see if I could make it work. I think I did okay if I do say so myself. I’m partial to oversized garments this season; they feel so effortless. And I admit, I’m a self-proclaimed scarf hoarder and couldn’t pass up Zara’s selection of chunky scarves, specifically this two toned/color block-esque one. As you know, I’m crazy about neutrals so a scarf that incorporates camel and grey…I’m sold. Now I’m ready for the cold….kind of…not really…okay no I’m not.

Shop my look below:

Is it Friday yet? On a scale of 1 to 10, this week has been a 6 and I know it’s only Wednesday but things have just been so off for me these past couple days. My coworkers and I have been relying on NY Metro’s horoscopes to get us through each day—-yea, exactly my point, it’s that kind of week. The last thing I really want to think about is putting an outfit together for work. And after my binge at Marshall’s a couple weeks ago, I found the perfect shift dress to get me through a week of mediocrity. Yes–you heard me correctly, this AMAZING Andrew Marc dress is yet ANOTHER #FABFIND from Marshall’s, I mean hello?! It has pockets. But what I love most, (pockets aside) is the mandarin collar, I just have a thing for them. With such a collar, there’s really no need for a statement necklace, it does the work for you—less is always more. I paired it with my chunk Franco Sarto sandals (another #FABFIND) to save my feet for the day. Today may not be an easy one, but at least my outfit is.

Sorry for being a Debbie guys, I hope you have a short and sweet Wednesday loves!

I’m always on the hunt for the next best boutique to land some affordable favorites, and since working in Manhattan I didn’t have to travel far to find one. My new go-to spot for game-changing pieces is Shop Culture, they have several locations spread throughout the city, but I frequent the one on 36th and 7th in the heart of the garment district no less. With my crop top game strong this spring, I decided this black and white mixed print top wouldn’t hurt my ever-expanding collection. A piece like this is necessary, it’s an added piece of art to a spice up a simple (blush) trouser or sleek pencil skirt. And speaking of blush, these Mercer and Madison trousers (via Marshall’s) are hands down the most comfortable work pant I own. They have an elastic waist (shown in the back) with a sleek pleated front, I like to call them my mullet pants. Another trophy from my many Marshall’s victories–thank you very much. I have to admit, Marshall’s has become a danger-zone for me;  I can’t seem to walk out with out spending some serious money. It’s not healthy, but I have to say while spring cleaning I found a handful of pieces that I plan to revamp and bring back to life. While spring is for new beginnings it doesn’t mean you have to break your bank for a whole new wardrobe, you’d be surprised with what you can find hanging in your closet.
