ROMPER, ROMPHIM, ROMP-ALL!

Details: TJ Maxx/Marshalls Bell Sleeve Honey Punch Romper, here |

So, the guys are getting on the romper wagon now, huh? I’m completely fine with this, but I will say that everything that guys have said about rompers, like that they hate them because they look like something a toddler would wear or that they’re not flattering on anyone in anyway shape or form and look more creepy than sexy.  After seeing rompers on men, it makes me wonder if they were right all along. I mean not ALL men can pull off a RompHim, and it is somewhat off-putting that they look like hairy adult babies runinng around. But to each his own, right? Despite my growing distaste for the recent RompHim trend, I am certain I will not be ditching my rompers any time soon. In fact, I just scored this bell-sleeve romper from Marshall’s and couldn’t love more if I tried. Unlike most offices, mine doesn’t implement a strict dress code which means rompers are acceptable in the workplace–woohoo!! And the fact that this one has long sleeves makes it even more loveable because it allows me to combat the ice chamber conditions inside the office, while still looking like I’m acknowleding the fact that it’s spring when I walk outside. Its floral pattern is tasteful and broken up by the lace detail in the middle, makes this one of my favorites this season. Cheers to rompers for all,  we’re truly breaking fashion boundaries!

TRADE IN THAT LBD FOR A RED ONE

dsc_0896editeddsc_0900editeddsc_0893editeddsc_0895editeddsc_0008editeddsc_0997editedDetails: Lace Insert Openwork Slimming Bodycon dress c/o Rosegal, here |

It really didn’t feel like Christmas this year, and leading up to the day I was super worried that I wouldn’t feel that Christmas spirit. But after seeing my little babes (nieces and nephews) so excited over Santa and all of the presents he brought them, it was hard not to. I’ll be honest, I don’t typically dress up on Christmas day. It’s mostly because I’d rather be comfortable than cute and I like to help in the kitchen or hold a drooling baby without worrying about getting a good outfit dirty. While I don’t typically dress up on Christmas day, that doesn’t mean I don’t love a good dress. I always gravitate to black, but when I saw this red lace bodycon dress, I couldn’t help but grab it. It’s comfortable and I love that it has long sleeves because I do not want my pasty white arms getting any attention. I also really love how vibrant the color red is. It just screams Christmas joy–right? Just because the holidays are coming to a close, doesn’t mean you don’t need a ton of new dresses for 2017 weekends ahead. Speaking of 2017, if you’re still on the hunt for a NYE dress, scoop this one up from Rosegal. Fun tip: it’s not normal bodycon tight, so you can drink as much champagne and chomp on endless apps without feeling like your food baby is showing.

Well, that’s all I got, but I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday filled with Christmas spirit!

The holidays are around the corner, and that only means one thing…holiday dress prep. I typically like to have several  dresses prepared for family gatherings, holiday work parties and date nights. Unlike previous years, I was able to get a head start on my dress search,  all thanks to The Mint Julep Boutique. From casual tops to party dresses, they have everything you need for that special holiday occasion. This black lace dress with flared out skirt instantly caught my eye. Its sweet and feminine, while its sultry lace neckline adds a serious element of sophistication. Because this dress doesn’t really need any accessories, considering it’s a statement in and of itself,  I went with a simple single strap black heel. Bring on the holidays!

I think I’m off to a good start, and you can be too! I’m giving away a $25 e-gift card to https://www.shopthemint.com/ (winner will be announced Monday, November 16th by 8:00 p.m. EST). (GUEST OF THE) WEDDING DRESS DILEMMA

Last night…well actually for about a month now, I’ve been listening to my best friend stress over what to wear to the summer weddings she’s attending. Since I spent the night with her going over choices, and her being as indecisive as ever I decided to dedicate this post to finding the best dress. As you know, guest of the wedding dress shopping is quite a heavy task, especially when you’re attending a wedding with friends you haven’t seen in a while. You want to look stunning, without trying too hard; you don’t want to oversell the fact that you look amazing–it has to look effortless as if you just happened to find a dress hanging in your closet. When I choose my dresses for weddings, I first gauge the type of crowd I’ll be surrounded by and work from there. If it’s a more ‘mature’ group I’ll choose something modest and elegant, if it’s a  less ‘mature’ (hahah) I like to wear something flirty and body-conscious. The dress I chose for my most recent wedding is this lace embellished one from SheInside; it’s the best of both. Its high neck and lace details make it modestly sophisticated, while the body-con fit highlights my assets and adds some sex appeal. It’s by far my favorite and will be making appearances at many upcoming weddings. As for my friend, she has finally decided on a dress at least I think so, actually I’m not really sure at least it’s down to three options–it’ll  have to be a game time decision; there’s no helping some people ;).

KORA RAE + MY CROP TOP OBSESSION

I have been flirting with my spring wardrobe lately and been patiently waiting for Mother Nature to make up her mind. I finally decided I couldn’t wait any longer for her to get it together, and decided to break in my  new reversible Kora Rae, Lupita style crop top. I absolutely love its fit and reversibility— on one side it’s a faint pink/peach color as shown and on the other its a grey/beige shade.  Both are practical and easy to style, making this my go to crop top of the season. In an effort to combat the cold, I layered it over a creme lace long sleeved crop top and decided to bite the bullet and show some leg with with my ivory H&M skirt.

Mother Nature, I think it’s time to throw in the towel and let the sun prevail, we’ve suffered enough.
