Since moving to Boston I’ve been searching for ways to make it feel like home. I truly don’t believe it’ll ever feel like the home I know and love, but I think I’m doing a good job of making it a home away from home. With good friends near and a new city to explore, I’ve been adjusting pretty well and I can’t imagine being anywhere else at this moment in time. When I was younger, my mom never liked us to put any posters on our wall. She worked hard at making our rooms look picture perfect, and while I often snuck a Backstreet Boys poster in from my J-14 magazine once in a while, it never lasted long. In my initial decorating plans for my new Boston room I didn’t have any ideas for my walls. Blank fresh walls add peace and makes for a very serene environment, I didn’t think I really needed much. Funny enough, my mom bought me two perfect canvas quote boards which I decided to hang on two different sections of my room. My newest addition is this custom gold foil map c/o Minted.  I decided it was only appropriate to customize my gold foil masterpiece to the map of my hometown of Chester, New Jersey. It’s just the touch of home my room needed. The process is super easy too; all you have to do is type in the address of your desired location and a google maps layout will appear, here you are able to zoom in and out to pick the design that meets your eye. Then choose a foil color you prefer and a frame (if you prefer). I love my piece of home that hangs above my bed, and it’s such a creative idea for the holidays—perfect for anyone and hard not to love!
