PLAID PLEATS

DSC_0104editedDSC_0070editedDSC_0103editedDSC_0081editedDSC_0075editedDSC_0115editedDSC_0113editedDSC_0141editedDSC_0145editedDetails: Stand collar tie-waist plaid dress, here |

I told you I was going to stick to my winter dress-wearing mission, and this long sleeve plaid dress has been making it easy for me. Not only is it long sleeved, but it has a high neckline and I really appreciate my pale chest being covered during the winter months (unless I have a good spray tan). To combat the cold, I layered some black knee-high socks over sheer black tights. It’s super comfortable and much warmer than tights alone. Additionally, the tie-waist forms a perfect pleat, making it flirty and feminine. With an upcoming nor’easter on the way, I can’t say I’ll be donning a dress anytime soon,  but if I HAD to wear one in the elements, you can be sure this would be my choice. I promise. Cheers to a new week!

JACKIE O CALLED, SHE WANTS HER DRESS BACK

DSC_0636editedDSC_0667editedDSC_0717editedDSC_0745Details: Mock Neck Gray and Black Knit Dress c/o Sammy Dress, here  |

Despite the fact that it has been unseasonably warm, I still haven’t worn enough dresses. It’s not for a lack of dresses, but for little to no effort on my part. I’ve said this before, tights require way too much work, especially on a chilly morning in January. If I’m going to wear a dress to work, it has to be comfortable. This black and gray mock neck dress makes me feel like Jackie O. It’s so classy and elegant. I especially love the mock neck, mostly because I become Casper in the winter and I don’t like my pale chest to blind anyone. I also really like the front pockets; they’re so unique and make this dress unlike any other I own.

Now wish me luck on motivating myself to wear more dresses to work!

GREY, PLAID AND CHECK: I’M SOLD

dsc_0148editeddsc_0145editeddsc_0141editeddsc_0186editedDetails: Contrast Ribbed Trim Check Plaid Sweater c/o SheIn, here |

I know what you’re thinking, another sweater. I can’t help myself! It’s the season for sweaters and I really can’t seem to have enough. I always go for the cardigans, but I rarely find pullover sweater that I really love or have to have. When I saw this one, I knew I had to have it hanging in my closet. I love how it’s short enough to fit just above my pants. Part of the problem I have with pullovers is that they’re often too long and since I’m so short, they stunt my growth. I still feel hazy from my long holiday vacation, and this shoot is rubbing salt in the wound since it was taken while we were visiting Josh’s aunt and uncle in VA. It’s so nice to spend the holidays relaxing and with family and this was one of the outfits I practically lived in. Not only can I wear it with jeans, but it would look just as perfect with a black or gray skirt. I promise I’ll start sharing more clothing, other than cozy sweaters. However, living in Boston, it’s all I can really wear right now. Stay tuned!
