MY GROWN UP HOODIE

DSC_0700 editedDSC_0701 editedDSC_0678 editedDSC_0690 editedDSC_0746 editedDSC_0741 editedDSC_0732 editedDetails: Black and white chevron hoodie c/o J. Jill, here | Dark wash denim pants from Gap, similar here | Superga slip-on sneakers c/o J. Jill, here |

Is it just me or did everyone have a favorite hoodie in high school? I remember mine, it was bright blue from Abercrombie & Fitch and it had the traditional logo in a deeper navy blue. I loved that hoodie, I used to spray it in my favorite perfume when I’d get ready for the first football game of the season. I often think about how the younger Jackie used to dress and I burst out laughing. Today, I would NEVER douse an article of clothing in perfume or wear a tattoo choker necklace—what was I thinking?! While I’ve since retired my Abercrombie & Fitch hoodie, that doesn’t mean I don’t have a selection  in my fall wardrobe. Hoodies are like comfort food, they make you feel good and perhaps sometimes they look too casual, there are ways you can make them appropriate. This black and white chevron hoodie from J. Jill is extremely thick and cozy, and  it’s definitely the most sophisticated hoodie I’ve ever owned. I mean it’s probably not something 15 year old Jackie would wear, but perfect for the here and now. I’m pretty sure this is going to become my favorite adult life hoodie.

A TAILORED LOVE

IMG_1716 editedIMG_1696 editedIMG_1670 editedIMG_1729%20editedIMG_1723 editedIMG_1780 editedDetails: Navy and white jumpsuit via Marshall’s, brand here |

Okay, I have a story about this jumpsuit, I found it at Marshall’s and I just had to have it, it was the only one left and I was legit sweating while running to grab it. BUT to my unfortunate surprise, it didn’t fit. It was too top heavy, it flared out,  you could see my bra and it just flat out wasn’t working on me, but when I’m convinced I need something…. I NEED it. So while I was in the dressing room trying to fool myself that it fit, I decided that since it was a reasonable $30, why not invest a little more and have it tailored?! I’m ecstatic that I did—it’s definitely going to be accompanying me on MANY summer gatherings. It’s just an easy piece, you don’t need much to wear it; accessories are optional—its chevron pattern is enough noise for one outfit. Dress it up with a cute wedge or throw on your favorite flip flops–EASY PEASY my loves!

Happy Friday!
