NOT JOGGING, JUST WEARING JOGGERS

Details: Ann Taylor jogger pants, here | Tommy Hilfiger Ventur pumps, here | Forever 21 trench jacket, similar here |

When you can’t wear your favorite sweatpants to work and the weather is torturing you…enter joggers. I’ve always loved how joggers look on other people, but I never knew JUST how to style them. They’re like an enigma to me. They’re not sweatpants, they’re not dress pants, not jeans, not leggings… they’re joggers– in their own category with endless options. These polyester Ann Taylor joggers are equipped with lax pockets and can easily be worn with your best blazer or your coziest knit. I took my first shot at styling joggers with a classic white gauzy top, a light beige overcoat and my favorite pumps (perfect for work and play). I am now fully on board with these beauties and have worn them everywhere. From new business meetings to casual nights out with my friends, I’ve styled them in a variety of ways and got the same response: “I love your joggers!” And so do I.

What’s your favorite way to wear joggers? Do you prefer to keep them in your athleisure drawer or hanging with your business casual staples?

A GOOD TOP: AS NECESSARY AS A GOOD FRIEND

Details: Pink bell sleeve top via Marshalls, similar here | J. Crew white denim pants, similar here |

I feel like I talk about the weather in every outfit post I write. Maybe that’s because it’s absurd that we’re still experiencing frigid temps in April. Regardless,  I’m trying to figure out my spring wardrobe, while maintaining my sanity. I’ve begun to care less about what I wear and more about staying comfortable, which is a dangerous game. I’ve recently stocked up on a couple long sleeve spring-themed tops, one being this bell sleeve top from none other than Marshall’s. It has become one of my favorite tops. Like I always say, (but have really never said until just now) a good top is like a good friend. It makes you look good, it’s reliable and it never judges you for any winter weight gain–it’s true! In an effort to summon warmer temps, I pulled out my white denim pants and some peep toe shoes…in case you were wondering, that didn’t work. Right now, I’m focusing on my wardrobe for my upcoming vacation to Charleston, where I can guarantee I’ll be surrounded by sunshine and bare arms and legs. Until then, I’ll be living through outfit photos in which I suffered through to take during, yet another cold March day.

BRIGHT ON!

Details: Forever 21 Ribbed Multicolor Sweater, similar here | American Eagle High-Waisted jeans, similar here | Forever 21 Faux Leather Combat Boots, here

Guys! It was unexpectedly 70-degrees yesterday and I couldn’t even believe it. Today is supposed to be just as warm, but my pale skin is not prepared for gorgeous sunshine and blue skies. That being said,  I won’t be donning shorts, skirts or dresses, but instead, I will channel the brighter weather with this multicolor cropped sweater and bold yellow drop earrings. I always seem to channel retro 70’s style, and I think it’s because I love wearing bright colors and letting my hair flow in waves. I ditched bell bottoms for tapered high-waisted skinny jeans and slid on some combat boots, making this an elevated 2018 70’s inspired look, right?! Once my skin is tanner, I can wear this sweater layered under overalls and over a cute denim dress…the options are endless! I’m also not getting too excited about these warmer temps in February because we’re supposed to get some snow on Thursday. Thanks for the reality check, Mother Nature!

Hope your day is filled with sunshine, whether it’s from within or outside. Shine on my beautiful babes!

MOM JEANS & BOLD JEWELS

You know how you hate to admit it, but your mom always seems to be right? It’s actually irritating and charming at the same time—I remember laughing at my mom for her “mom” jeans, thinking “oh poor mom, she doesn’t know fashion, I’ll teach her”. But while my friends and I were taking on bell bottoms and extra low rise jeans, our moms were one step ahead wearing high-waisted MOM jeans. Little did we know, they were on to something, because they are unbelievably comfortable, hide any current food babies, or bloat  AND look amazing. Now, these are no longer known as mom jeans, instead they’ve been assigned the names high-rise or high waisted jeans, but let’s take the time to acknowledge the trendsetters— “hey mom, you were right…AGAIN.”

I paired my simple white chiffon blouse with a locally bought tiered turquoise statement necklace and concluded the outfit with my go-to Diba booties. You really can’t go wrong with a great pair of jeans and a white shirt, and don’t forget a bold pop of color!

Happy Monday!
