BOLD BEANIES

I’ve never been known to wear hats, but it seems as though every store I pop into lately has a variety of beanies to choose from. I do have several plain and simple beanies lying around, but I’ve never been bold enough to take on a pom beanie. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because it reminds me of the winter hats I used to wear as a toddler. I remember my first pom beanie like it was yesterday; it was white with multi color hearts and had my name printed across the front in pink. When did these pom hats become cute again? Well, I guess you could say I’m feeling “bold” this season because I bit the bullet and bought this beige faux-fur pom beanie from Beyond Trends. It can be worn with a wide variety of colors and you can wear it to lay further on the back of your head or straight up, allowing the pom to shine! Get on and get yourself a pom beanie this season; I promise you’ll feel like a little kid again.

Three Day Weekend Wear

A three day weekend calls for a comfy outfit post. I can’t speak for everyone, but for me a bad hair day calls for a beanie and a fluffy belly from too much beer and burgers means a chunky knit and stretchy destroyed denim.  This layered look includes a UNBELIEVABLY comfortable black and white flannel from UNIQLO and my chunky Ann  Taylor sweater. I paired it with my favorite pair of high top wedges, being vertically challenged a girl could always use some height. They’re comfortable and easy to wear making them my weekend sneaker. Since the weather has become painfully cold, a winter hat is necessary especially if you have to walk to work. I know not everyone loves the pom pom winter hat since it’s reminiscent of the unflattering snow gear we all used to wear as a child, but beanies are a perfect way to keep your head warm while looking cute. Not to mention, they’re a great solution for bed head.

I hope you’re enjoying the three day weekend and are donning your comfiest outfit today!
