BRIGHT ON!

Details: Forever 21 Ribbed Multicolor Sweater, similar here | American Eagle High-Waisted jeans, similar here | Forever 21 Faux Leather Combat Boots, here

Guys! It was unexpectedly 70-degrees yesterday and I couldn’t even believe it. Today is supposed to be just as warm, but my pale skin is not prepared for gorgeous sunshine and blue skies. That being said,  I won’t be donning shorts, skirts or dresses, but instead, I will channel the brighter weather with this multicolor cropped sweater and bold yellow drop earrings. I always seem to channel retro 70’s style, and I think it’s because I love wearing bright colors and letting my hair flow in waves. I ditched bell bottoms for tapered high-waisted skinny jeans and slid on some combat boots, making this an elevated 2018 70’s inspired look, right?! Once my skin is tanner, I can wear this sweater layered under overalls and over a cute denim dress…the options are endless! I’m also not getting too excited about these warmer temps in February because we’re supposed to get some snow on Thursday. Thanks for the reality check, Mother Nature!

Hope your day is filled with sunshine, whether it’s from within or outside. Shine on my beautiful babes!

‘STRANGER THINGS’ INSPIRED

dsc_0798editeddsc_0807editeddsc_0815editeddsc_0843editeddsc_0845editedDetails: Cambridge Fair Isle Pullover c/o J.Jill, here |

You know those sweaters from the 70’s, the ones with the crochet patterns that stretch across the shoulders? You know, the ones most recently on Stranger Things? Yeah, those. Well, I’m a huge fan of 70’s style and this Cambridge Fair Isle Pullover c/o J.Jill has me swooning. First of all, the fit is flawless. It’s just the right length and it’s super soft and cozy. I paired it with my favorite pair of jeans, but I have plans to style it with a skirt and layer it over a chambray shirt. I think some people tend to shy away from bold sweaters like this one because it’s not your typical solid color sweater and that’s what makes it great. This fall, I challenge you to wear something bold and feel confident in it. That’s difficult, I know, but when you do it once and realize you can own it, then you can wear just about anything–no joke! Go on, and share you bold, out of the box styles with me :).

CHIC IN CHAMBRAY

DSC_0990editedDSC_0987new new neweditedDSC_1035editedDSC_1054edited newDetails: Chambray dress from Marshall’s, similar here | Franco Sarto wedges, similar here |

The summer has been crazy busy and I am sad to admit that I haven’t been on my blog game. I let this amazing beach weather get the best of me, and I just haven’t been as motivated to keep my blog going. Not only are there family  get-togethers almost every weekend, but Josh and I are preparing to move in together on September 1st and you don’t really realize how much there is to think about until you’re in it. Regardless, here I am, and I’m determined to get back into my blog post routine. Now, on to today’s outfit. The last time I was home, I went to the Marshall’s and found this adorable chambray dress for $16.99 and knew it would become one of my favorite summer staples. When my mom saw the dress draped over my arm, she immediately recalled a similar dress that she used to have. I feel like I hear her say this more often than not and I’m always annoyed that she didn’t save any of her favorites. All fashions come full circle, ya know! And I love high neck dresses and especially love the narrow cut of the top of this one; it’s sexy and sophisticated. With summer BBQs in full force, it’s safe to say I’ll be wearing this every weekend and even well into September.

Happy summer! Enjoy the sunshine while you can.

FROM BELL BOTTOMS TO BELL SLEEVES

DSC_0622editedDSC_0556editedDSC_0546editedDSC_0605editedDSC_0584editedDetails: Multi-color bell sleeve dress (old), similar here |

I don’t know why but I’ve been on quite the 70’s style era kick lately. Last week I was all about my bell bottoms and this week I’m flaunting a bell sleeved dress. The white and pink crochet reminds me of blankets my grandmother used to have and while that may sound outdated or evoke scents of moth balls I really like to associate my clothing with fond memories and/or family members, it makes them feel more meaningful. I can’t say I will be able to wear this dress anytime soon considering the frigid temps (I DEFINITELY spoke too soon), but this is definitely a winner for spring because it transitions easily with its long sleeves and light colors. I stupidly left most of my chunky knits back in Jersey so I’ll be repeat offending the ones I have (eye roll),  but I can’t wait to be donning dresses every other day–come on warm weather! Until then, I’ll be bundled in the knits I have and blazers… SOS.
