Video by The Running Publicist, Jon Salas

Okay, I just want to preface this by saying: I’m not a makeup artist/blogger and I don’t know the best techniques for applying makeup. I literally had to google how to use a beauty blender before doing this video. Normally, I just pour foundation into my hand and slap it on…seriously though haha. I also stopped wearing foundation this summer and haven’t really looked back. I just feel like my skin is not only so much clearer, but it feels much cleaner and smoother as well. However, when I was introduced to Neutrogena’s healthy skin and Hydro Boost Makeup products, my thoughts about foundation changed instantly. Below I’ve outlined all of the products I used in this video and how I felt about them. I was tasked with mastering a clean, red lip makeup look of Nicole Kidman. I actually think I did okay! Check out the video and tell me what you think :).

Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup in Natural Ivory First of all, this feels AMAZING on. I’ve seen so many reviews of different foundations where people say: “It feels like I’m not wearing anything!” Then I try it and it’s cakey and restricting. If you take one thing out of this post, let it be that this foundation ACTUALLY feels like you’re not wearing ANYTHING on your face. It feels like my skin and it doesn’t appear cakey or flaky. It has SPF 20 and is made of an ‘exclusive blend of antioxidants,’ which is why your skin feels so clean while wearing it. It’s working while you wear it, improving your skin’s luminosity, tone and texture, for healthy-looking skin…and it works! I’m fair and am wearing the Natural Ivory shade (best for cool undertones; it’s base it more pink than yellow). There are 14 different shades to choose from, so I’ll definitely be looking into darker shades once summer rolls around. ($14.59)

Hydro Boost Hydrating Concealer- I’m always looking for a good concealer for under eye circles and occasional breakouts. During the winter months, it’s especially difficult to keep your skin hydrated, and some of the thicker concealers I’ve used have made my skin appear and feel chalky. Not only does this concealer have ‘hydro boost’ and ‘hydrating’ in its name, it has a core designed to instantly quench the skin…and it works! It goes on SO smooth and works well to conceal dark under eye circles and small blemishes. It’s creamy and available in 5 blendable shades. ($14.99)

Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector-  Okay this is a game changer for me. Made with antioxidants, including Vitamin E, wild chamomile and soy, this beauty is clinically shown to de-puff and treat the appearance of dark circles…and it does just that! I’m in love with this and have been wearing it alone, with nothing else when I don’t feel like putting on a full face of makeup. It’s applied with a flow-through brush, making the application effortless. This is officially a staple in my makeup bag. ($13.99)

Nourishing Long Wear Eye Shadow + Built-in Primer-  As its name suggests, this eyeshadow includes a built-in primer, which is super noticeable. I’m wild over this. There’s no annoying crease lines or smudging and it lasts so much longer than my usual eyeshadow. It’s not creamy, but it almost feels like it is when you’re applying it. I was so impressed with this, especially given that it’s priced at $9.99. It’s available in 6 shades; definitely a new keeper for me.

Healthy Volume Mascara– Love this! It glides on smoothly and adds some serious volume to your lashes. Its formula is made with a touch of olive oil, so I’m assuming that’s why it feels so silky going on and adds plumpness. ($8.99)

Healthy Skin Blush (Rosy)-  I’m a HUGE fan of blush. It’s one of those makeup products that my mom has engrained in my mind as necessary. And mom is always right, blush makes such a big difference. It makes you look healthy and vibrant. I have a variety of blushes in my makeup bag, but this one is 100% natural looking. It gives that post workout, flushed look. I’ve been using it regularly and love how light, yet buildable the color can be. It feels so soft when you apply and it blends beautifully and evenly. There are 5 natural shades to choose from. I may need to get my hands on a few more. ($8.99)

Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Shine (Velvet Wine)- I’ve always loved shiny lip glosses, but I always get annoyed with how sticky they can feel. It’s also super difficult to successfully do a red lip. You have to find the right liner and watch everything you eat or drink so as not to mess it up. I’ve found with this lip shine that it’s so easy to apply without the hassle of lining your lips. Plus, when it starts to wear off, you don’t need to run to the bathroom and spend 5 minutes reapplying your liner and lip color. It’s not sticky, glides on seamlessly and feels like it’s moisturizing/quenching my dry lips. It’s also available in 14 different shades. I NEED them all! ($9.99)
